The OpenAI wrapper problem
Every SaaS product in 2026 claims to be "AI-powered." Most of them are thin wrappers around OpenAI's API. They send your business data to OpenAI's servers, pay per-token fees, and call it innovation. AXOIX takes a fundamentally different approach.
Why we built our own model
1. Data privacy — When you use a tool that sends your business data to OpenAI's servers, that data leaves your control. Customer names, financial records, employee information — all sent to a third-party API in another country. AXOIX runs its own 4B parameter model on our own secured servers in India. Your data never leaves our infrastructure.
2. No per-query costs — OpenAI charges per token. The more your team uses AI features, the more it costs the SaaS vendor, who passes that cost to you. Our model runs on our hardware — there's no usage meter ticking up. Use voice commands 1,000 times a day? Same cost.
3. Reliability — When OpenAI has an outage (and they do), every product built on their API goes down. Our AI is independent. Our uptime is our own.
4. Customization — Our model is trained specifically for business operations in the Indian context. It understands GST, TDS, GSTR filing, PF/ESI calculations, Indian labor law, and industry-specific terminology. GPT-4 is a generalist. AXOIX's model is a specialist.
5. Speed — Our Q4-quantized model runs at ~10 tokens/second on our infrastructure. That's fast enough for real-time voice commands and chat responses without the latency of an API call to San Francisco.
The trade-off — and why it works
Our model is 4B parameters — smaller than GPT-4's rumored 1.7 trillion. But for business operations (not creative writing or philosophical debates), specialized small models outperform generalist large ones. A 4B model that deeply understands Indian accounting beats a trillion-parameter model that vaguely understands everything.
