A tenant moves out, and the room needs to be turned around before the next one moves in. Who's cleaning it? Has it actually been done, or just started? Did anyone check it before the new tenant walked in? In most PGs the answer lives in someone's memory, not a record.
Quick answer (for the impatient)
- Every cleaning job is a tracked task — assigned to a specific staff member, with a status that actually moves: pending → in progress → completed → inspected.
- A room's cleaning status is visible alongside its booking status — not a separate system to check.
- Inspection is a real step, not an assumption — a task can be marked passed or failed, and a failed inspection flags maintenance if needed.
The turnover blind spot
A PG owner or manager typically finds out a room is ready one of two ways: someone tells them, or they walk over and check themselves. Neither scales past a handful of rooms. Multiply it by move-outs happening on different days across a multi-floor property, and "is Room 204 ready for the new tenant tomorrow" becomes a question that requires a physical walk-through to answer with confidence.

That blind spot is exactly where a tenant complaint starts — "the room wasn't even cleaned before I moved in" is a believable story precisely because nobody had a record proving otherwise.
What a task actually tracks
Each cleaning job in AXOIX is a real task record, not a checkbox: the type of clean (checkout clean, stayover tidy, deep clean, turndown), a priority, and who it's assigned to — a real staff record, not a name typed into a note. The status moves through a genuine lifecycle rather than just "done or not done": pending, in progress, completed, and inspected — with the inspector and the pass/fail result recorded against the task.

If an inspection turns up a real problem — not just "needs a re-clean" but something broken — the task can flag that maintenance is required, so a cleaning issue and a repair issue don't get tangled into the same record.
Where AXOIX is honest about its limits
- No automatic task on move-out — yet. Hotel-PMS checkout auto-creates a cleaning task the moment a guest checks out. A PG tenant vacating doesn't trigger that same automatic step today — you create the task yourself. Worth knowing so you don't assume it happens on its own.
- This is room-level, not bed-level. A shared PG room with multiple beds gets one cleaning task for the room, not a separate task per bed.
FAQ
Can I assign a cleaning task to a specific staff member?
Yes — each task links to a real staff record, not a note.
Does the system track whether a clean was actually inspected?
Yes — inspection is a distinct status with a pass/fail result and the inspector recorded.
Does moving a tenant out automatically create a cleaning task?
Not yet for PG — that automatic step currently exists for hotel-PMS checkout only; you create the PG task yourself.
The bottom line
"Is the room ready" shouldn't require a walk-through to answer. A task that's actually assigned, actually moves through real states, and actually gets inspected turns turnover from a guess into a record — the same record you can point to if a tenant ever claims otherwise.
